Millennial
Millennial Events and Advisory specialises in creating, staging, promoting, consulting, producing and syndicating events across Asia; with a focus on action sports with events, through offices in Shanghai and Singapore. We are particularly interested in skateboarding and bmx sports with their recent inclusion in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. We are particularly known for our work in skateboarding, and the resources we bring to both the sanctioned and IOC recognised disciplines, and the organic and creative world of skateboarding as demonstrated by the many talents that don't participate in contests. We have recently adapted to the pandemic restriction on international travel by creating new projects that connect skateboarding communities through remote events, on social media and through video challenges. Our first project in May 2020, was a grassroots project inspired by "Lockdown" safety protocols. We asked skaters to share their videos of tricks filmed under their local lockdown restrictions - from skaters in Bangladesh skating on rooftops, to others skating in their basements, on homemade ramps in their gardens, and some who skated in their homes and bedrooms. Our second project was the Asian Skateboarding Awards, looking to identify the best in skating talent across the continent. We found some hidden gems in countries that don't have many skateboard resources, to some amazing street skaters in Japan, and others already well known through contests. We look forward to the reopening of the borders, so that we can continue to support these skateboarders. But in the meantime, watch out for more challenges shared on our social channels @TheSkateboardingSocial
